✴️ Video Included – Player-ready Round-bodied Pre-war Guitar Lute, Germany, 1930s – Outstanding Sound and Great Condition

This unusual pre-war guitar lute was made approx. in the early 1900s in the workshop, very likely in the Musikwinkel are on the Czech-German border (which used to be famous for its musical instrument manufactures). It is a fully checked, cleaned and very lightly refurbished antique instrument with an outstanding sound, featuring a round-bodied design. The neck and all other parts of this lute are in great shape and allow for comfortable playing.

The instrument has a ladder-braced solid purfled spruce top with a tight-grain, composite flame maple back (solid wood) and a carved headstock with brass and bone tuners (cleaned and working great). All parts of the lute are original as is the well preserved hand-rubbed varnish on the whole instrument (with some small blemishes and usual patina from playing). The back bowl has a flame pattern all over it, the neck is straight and comfortable with a rosewood fretboard. There were some hairline cracks on the top, all of which are properly glued and cleated and do not impair the sound or integrity of the instrument in any way. The sound is inspiring and features all the qualities that a guitar lute should bring and much more.

The scale lenght is 600 mm, distance between the lower and upper E on the saddle is 60 mm, the nut width is 43 mm.

The lute is presently tuned in classic guitar tuning.
