One of first 50 electric violins made by ZETA Music when the company was in Berkeley, California. This violin comes from the collection of a professional violinist who worked for ZETA and has recordings with major international symphony orchestras.

The finish on this violin is in near perfect mint condition and is fully operational. An audio demo is available upon request.

The violin was updated exclusively by ZETA in the early 1990's with the adjustable bridge and ZETA's last circuit board revision (Rev 2).

The volume wheel potentiometer is from the 1986 original circuitry. An extra volume potentiometer with the wiring harness is included if needed in the future and the original and optional Philips head stop screw for the volume wheel is included, see photos.

The instrument requires a 9-volt battery which provides a preamplified signal from the 1/4-inch jack. The Multi-DIN plug connects with the ZETA MIDI interface (not included). Please see photos.

The clear chin rest is from France and is the same one that also appeared on the Jean-Luc Ponty ZETA in Keyboard magazine from April 1986, see photo.

The original tuning wrench is included, see photo. Once the instrument is tuned, fine tuners are only needed thereafter.

The original third-position stop is included with the lock screw and hex wrench, see photo.

Extra backplate screws are included and a chin rest tool, see photo.

Historical provenance will be included from books and publications this instrument has appeared in.

Includes an unused, vintage plush-lined oblong ZETA case with original new shoulder strap and shipping box seen in the photos. (The case and white ZETA box are from the early 1990's).

Everything will be shipped in a well-padded larger box for safe transport.

Please examine photos carefully, they are part of the description. There is only one cosmetic on the instrument just above the volume wheel, see photo. Next to the bridge on both sides are barely visible slight creases in the finish. They typically appear on these early models in that location next to the bridge due to the string/bridge tension. Please see up-close photos.

This sale is final, so please ask any questions before purchasing. We look forward to having good communications with a prospective buyer who would like to be the next owner of this rare vintage instrument.
