About this listing
I am offering a Takamine P5DC from 2018, a made in Nakatsugawa, Gifu (Japan), luxury acoustic guitar model from the Takamine Pro Series with a voluminous dreadnought design including Venetian cutaway, fine-grained solid spruce top, solid back and sides made of dark-grained East Indian rosewood, noble rosewood fingerboard with abalone “dot-in-dot” inlays, high-quality Gotoh gold tuners and Takamine's CTP3 Cool Tube tube preamp in a radiant natural high-gloss finish with red tortoise pickguard, abalone rosette and multi-layer cream bindings in mint condition, including brown Takamine luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 11-gauge Elixir strings. This incredibly cool-looking Takamine P5DC Dreadnought combines traditional elements with contemporary refinements to create an instrument of absolute top quality. High-quality woods in a fully solid construction – typically Japanese craftsmanship – of the very highest quality, together with one of the best pickup systems on the market, result in a ravishingly full and warm sound with incredible flexibility that is otherwise not found in this price range. In terms of pure acoustic sound, the guitar, with its fine-grained spruce top over a hand-carved X-bracing and sides/back made of East Indian rosewood, offers everything you would expect from a dreadnought: rich bass, balanced mids and brilliant highs, rich in overtones, complement each other in a clearly projected sound with a wide dynamic range and great volume. A sound example of the model can be found at the end of the photo gallery above. As a special extra, Takamine has given this P5DC a CTP-3, one of the best preamps for acoustic guitars around. The two-channel CTP-3 has a low-voltage tube sound that can be adjusted continuously between bright/brilliant and fat/round. The obligatory piezo sound can be seamlessly mixed with a tube sound to give the overall sound more warmth, balance and dynamics. A very good tuner that can be calibrated is also available. The cutaway ensures easy access to the highest frets and Takamine's asymmetrical neck profile, with less thickness in the bass area, provides an ergonomic feel and optimized playability. The two-part bone bridge inlay also enables perfect intonation.Beautifully grained and with no obvious join between the two halves, the tonewoods are shown off to their best advantage under the thin high-gloss natural varnish. Gold-colored Gotoh tuners, elegant hand-laid cream bindings including a multi-layer rosewood purfling and fine abalone dot-in-dot inlays in the fretboard give the guitar aesthetic perfection!
