About this listing
ESP LTD KH-202 Electric Guitar in Black
The KH-202 is a compact, ergonomic platform built around Kirk Hammett's signature metal aesthetic and practical hardware foundation. This bolt-on design pairs aggressive styling with genuine playability — an extra-thin neck contour and Floyd Rose Special bridge combine to reduce hand fatigue while maintaining tuning stability through intense bending and divebomb work. Designed for players who demand sustained comfort and reliable performance in drop-tuned and standard applications alike.
Tone and Electronics
Passive circuitry with ESP Designed LH-301N (neck) and LH-301B (bridge) pickups delivers focused midrange and articulate high-end response characteristic of quality metal platforms. The Floyd Rose Special bridge with locking nut maintains tuning stability through aggressive string work, while the Volume/Volume/Tone/3-Way Switch layout provides intuitive control over output and tonal character.
Playability and Ergonomics
The extra-thin U-shaped neck contour minimizes hand fatigue during extended sessions and complex fingering patterns, while the 25.5" scale length with 24 XJ frets accommodates both standard tuning and drop-tuned applications. A 350mm fingerboard radius and 42mm nut width support palm-muting techniques and fast single-note work without compromise.
