Gibson 70s Explorer Antique NaturalA proper rock machine with all the subtlety of a pint glass through a pub window. The Gibson 70s Explorer Antique Natural delivers that classic mahogany punch, aggressive midrange and unmistakable Explorer attitude, whilst still feeling surprisingly refined in the hands.
Originally introduced in 1958, the Gibson Explorer became one of the most iconic shapes in rock and metal history. This 70s-inspired version keeps the vintage DNA intact whilst adding the reliability and playability modern players expect.
Finished in Antique Natural nitrocellulose lacquer, the grain of the mahogany body comes through beautifully. The Slim Taper mahogany neck feels fast without becoming too thin, and the pair of Gibson 70s Tribute humbuckers produce thick rhythm tones, cutting leads and enough output to make an old Marshall mildly nervous.
Includes original Gibson hardcase.

Bridge pickup gives tight, snarling mids with loads of bite. Neck pickup stays warm and full without turning woolly. Cleans are surprisingly usable too — although nobody buys an Explorer to play polite jazz standards at brunch.
