In 2017, Germany's Guitar Summit arrived seemingly out of nowhere to become one of the world's most exciting guitar shows.
The Guitar Summit returns to Mannheim in just a few weeks' time, taking place September 9—11. This year, it promises a "who's who of the international guitar scene." And Reverb will be there to take it all in.
Launched by Gitarre & Bass magazine, the Guitar Summit is dedicated to each and every facet of guitar playing: with skills workshops and DIY tutorials, booths with exciting new luthiers and top-tier vintage instruments, and plenty of live music to keep visitors inspired.
Over the course of three days, this year's Summit will include:
- 500 exhibitors and brands, showing off their guitars and allowing visitors to try them out.
- 100 workshops taught by well-known teachers, like blues tutorials with Henrik Freischlader, Chris Buck, and Thomas Blug or metal lessons with Jeff Loomis, Gus G., and Henrik Danhage.
- ”Friday & Saturday Night in Concert" series.
- A Sunday kids event with the dino-heavy rockers Heavysaurus.
- A DIY area with acoustic guitar and ukulele circles, a flea market, food trucks, competitions, and more.
But it's important to note the Guitar Summit is not limited just to players of six (or seven, or eight) strings. Bassists will find plenty of next-level basses at the event's booths and will have their own workshops, like groove-centric tutorials from Henrik Linder, Kinga Glyck, or Guy Bernfeld, performances from Jon Gomm, Julia Hofer, and more.
