Apprenticed under her father, Wayne Henderson, Jayne (E.J.) Henderson has carved out a name entirely her own — blending traditional Appalachian craftsmanship with an artist’s eye for detail. Her waitlist is now up to five years, making this a rare opportunity to acquire one without the long lead time or full new-build price.

This example features highly figured Black Walnut back and sides with mesmerizing rippling grain, paired with a Red Spruce (Adirondack) top under a warm dark sunburst. Full 42-style Abalone trim graces the top, fingerboard, and snowflake position markers.

One special touch — a bespoke catfish inlay on the back of the headstock, hand-cut and arranged by Jayne herself. Each piece of pearl is chosen to mimic the natural shimmer and texture of fish scales — a subtle signature of her artistry.
