WALRUS AUDIO MAKO Series: M1 High-Fidelity Modulation Machine Now in Stock (Used) The M1 is a powerful, multifunctional spatial effects processor featuring six customizable, studio-quality effects: “Chorus,” “Phaser,” “Tremolo,” “Vibrato,” “Rotary,” and “Filter.” Each program can be adjusted, fine-tuned, and customized, and saved to one of the nine built-in presets. The M1’s Lo-fi knob allows you to blend various Lo-fi parameters into any program. From subtle, delicate tremors to dynamic, thick, undulating chorus and boldly panned tremolo...The “M1 High-Fidelity Modulation Machine” is a high-performance modulation effects pedal suitable for any genre or style. ------------------------------------------------------------- -PROGRAM- Chorus From subtle chorus to a rich, resonant tri-chorus, this effect will instantly transport you back to the ’80s. Type I’s Traditional Chorus features a tight and smooth chorus tone. Type II adds an offset rate and depth to that sound. Due to its design, playing both chorus types simultaneously produces a more dramatic sound.Type III is rooted in the classic tri-chorus effect and uses three chorus channels to deliver a multidimensional, rich chorus effect. Phaser The classic 70s phaser sound we all know and love has been enhanced with unexpected new features. Type I is a two-stage phaser with a classic, mild notch. Type II is a four-stage model with two notches, delivering a stronger effect. Type III is a phaser that models the unique tuning and LFO waveforms found in the Uni-Vibe. Tremolo A tremolo that emulates three different algorithms: bell, whistle, and a bonus effect. Type I offers the classic, wonderful sound produced by optical and bias tremolos, which modulate the entire frequency range up and down?similar to Monument’s Standard mode.Type II is a warm and pleasant harmonic tremolo similar to Monument’s Harmonic mode. This unique sound is created by modulating the high and low frequencies in opposite directions. Type III is a pulsating tremolo synced to several preset rhythmic patterns. Vibrato Type I specializes in the classic vibrato sound. Type II offers a digital sound modeled after an old record player. (You’ll find classic RPM settings on the Rate knob, along with noise reminiscent of your parents’ old Speedwagon LP.) The Rate knob lets you choose speeds of 33 RPM, 45 RPM, or up to 78 RPM.Type III offers a modern take on the wow and flutter heard on old tape recorders. It has a warm, somewhat nostalgic quality. Rotary A large rotary speaker like a Leslie speaker just won’t fit on a pedalboard, right? Type I simulates a wet, oil-soaked Leslie speaker.Type II recreates the effect of sound coming from both the horn rotor (high frequencies) and the drum rotor (low frequencies), with only the horn rotor spinning. Type III recreates the effect of sound coming from both the drum rotor (low frequencies) and the horn rotor (high frequencies), with only the drum rotor spinning. Filter Use various modulation filters to add tone-shaping movement to the signal. Type I is a low-pass filter suitable for modulated, dark tones. Type II is a high-pass filter used to creatively modulate low frequencies. Type III is a band-pass filter that forms a sliding “window” of frequencies. Drive the filter frequency with the Main LFO, or set the Depth to zero and increase the LO-FI Envelope control to drive the filter frequency with your playing dynamics. PRESETS The M1 can store up to 9 onboard presets, and you can access 128 presets via MIDI. Onboard presets can be accessed using the bank switches (A | B | C). By pressing the bypass switch and the tap switch simultaneously, the LED on the right changes from red to green to blue, allowing you to select presets from each bank. Tune The Tune knob and toggle switch control three additional modulation parameters and three “Lo-fi” effects. These allow you to further customize each modulation sound. The Lo-fi effects add distinctive waveforms to the sound. ・Tone: Adjusts the overall tone ・Symmetry: Changes the symmetry of the LFO shape. The further you move it from the 12 o’clock position, the more asymmetrical it becomes. ・X: Controls different parameters depending on the program and type. Tweak With creative control over three key modulation options and three “Lo-fi” effects, you can shape each program to suit your preferences. ・Shape: Select the LFO waveform from sine, triangle, or square. ・Division: Adjusts the LFO speed when using tap tempo. Choose from quarter note, two-beat triplet, or eighth note. ・Type: Select one of three types for each program. INPUT/OUTPUT The M1 supports multiple input and output configurations. ・Mono In / Mono Out ・Mono In / Stereo Out ・Stereo In / Stereo Out MOMENTARY FUNCTIONS Press and hold the TAP/SKIP switch to create a “skip” effect, similar to a record player needle skipping a track. The last few milliseconds of the audio will automatically repeat until you release the switch. * The serial number sticker is partially peeled off; it appears that Velcro was attached to the back of the unit.
