Very Good condition, 7/10, Made in USA, including original (at least era correct and Fender, perhaps not exactly what it came in from the factory) tweed hardcase, some belt buckle wear on the back and tiny dings all over the body, only light fret wear.
Maple neck, gold anodized aluminium pickguard, missing thumb rest and both covers, the butt end of the neck is stamped MAR 29 1989 and J. URIBE and another date in the neck pocket that ends in xxxx4 1989 but is obscured by peeling finish, signed in the pickup cavity JM and on the underside of the pickguard LM in red pencil markings.
The pots and electronics look untouched but the pot dates are obscured by solder, looks like R8819 or R8919 and the original pickup has one grey and one black bottom coil (standard) where the grey one is stamped 27 5 53, small piece of finish has fallen off by the neck plate, more info:
The original run of vintage reissue models started emerging from the Fullerton factory in late '82, with those original examples produced up until the move to the Corona factory in '85 steadily gaining serious value. This later example from 1989 still has the mojo of those earlier reissues, but at a more attainable price point. Originally produced in vintage white, this examples nitro finish has substantially yellowed over time.
