The A-101-2 from Doepfer is a vactrol based Low Pass Gate, which is a combination of a Filter and VCA. It is inspired by the Buchla 292 module, most commonly known to make the "Buchla Bongo" effect. An interesting addition to this module is resonance control, which adds a whole new character to the filter aspect of the Low Pass Gate. The VCA and Filter components can be "struck" with a gate or trigger, both of which contain their own gate input. The character of the module can also be switched from dedicated Low Pass, to dedicated VCA with the toggle switch.
