1960s Yamaha VM 100 6-into-1 Microphone Mixer & Spring Reverb
Incrediby rare device, apparently Yamaha's first ever pro audio product, according to their website.
In a nutshell:
- 6-into-1 mixer
- All discrete topology (no ICs)
- 3-band EQ and hi/lo-gain switch per channel.
- Maximum gain around 50dB
- Built-in spring reverb
- Can be switched to an external FX loop per channel
- Runs with 230V mains
This thing oozes character.
It can get really crunchy and excells at beat mangling duties.
The EQs are plain wierd but colourful.
And the built-in spring is the cherry on the top.
Be sure to check out my demo video (on the picture bar above, all the way to the right)
What you hear is what you get.
Technical condition:
- All channels and knobs work
- Scratchy pots and fader can occur at any time but it's not a real issue when in regular use
- The foam bearing of the spring reverb tank was crumbly.
I've replaced them and secured the spring tank with cable ties.
See pics. - Most of the bulbs of the back-lit panel are out
- The Yamaha is in original condition, so a recapping is not a bad idea
The fader caps of channel 6 are not original.
Besides please refer to the pics as far as the optical condition is concerned.
This is device is well over 60 years old, I'm hence selling it as described.
Again, please refer to the pics and demo video.
This is exactly what you can excpect.
I'm letting go almost the entirety of my collection of mixers.
Keep you eyes peeled for more.
Will ship inside the EU and to the UK.
Overseas can be done upon request but it might get pricey because of sight an weight (10kg packaged).
