Classical vintage guitar Musima, 3/4 sized, made in DDR, 1957

Let's start the 2024 proposals from the East, coming straight from the Germany of the rising sun, a very pretty nylon 3/4 Musima, born in the GDR in September 1957.

"Musima was an East German instrument manufacturer located in Markneukirchen. This southern part of Saxony (the Vogtland), near the Czech border, has a long history as a center of violin making due in part to the nearby forests of spruce perfect for violins. area was settled in the late 1600s by Protestant violin makers. Escaping persecution in their native Bavaria they established a violin makers' guild and by the mid to late 1800s Markneukirchen was the largest producer of violins. After World War II this area became part of communist East Germany. Many of the luthiers left the area and settled in the area of Erlangen in West Germany. The remaining instrument makers were organized into collectives and the Musima factory established in 1952 first as VEK but soon the name was changed to VEB Musima. At its peak in the 1960s and 1970s, the Musima factory was one of the world's largest musical instrument manufacturers with around 1200 employees making 360 guitars per day, as well as other instruments. When East and West Germany combined in 1990 the Musima factory soon closed - its factory buildings were bought by the Harmona accordion company.""Musima is one of the bigger production and trading companies for musical instruments in Markneukirchen, a region in Germany with 350 years of tradition in musical instruments manufacturing. For instance C. F. Martin originates from this region. Other well known guitar luthiers are Weissgerber as the most prominent representative, Schneider, Gropp, Kreul, Dietrich, Meinel etc.!"

Solid birch top, sides and rounded back in birch/mahogany laminate, the whole body is really nicely figured, one-piece beech neck, C-shaped profile, and beech fingerboard.Entirely original, very few signs of time despite being 67 years old, and no desire to retire!

47mm at the nut, zero fret, for a scale of 620mm, it is mounted in Savarez 28/43, a very reasonable action of 2.5mm per octave, despite its reduced format, it sounds quite loud, very clear and brilliant, birch obliges, it is intended to reflect the tendencies of Flamenca Bianca.
