A rare opportunity to purchase a virtually “new old stock” USA Limited Edition Epiphone Paul McCartney Texan model FT-79 from 2005, which was hand picked by the owner from a pool of four examples, to select the best example of figuring, tone and actual McCartney signature!
At McCartney's insistence, the FT-79 Texan models were hand-built by Gibson's acoustic division in Montana, making them the first Epiphone acoustics to be constructed in the US for 35 years. After a first aged run of 40 pieces a second limited run of 250 Texans was made to mirror Macca’s 1964 instrument. Not only do these US-built acoustics replicate the timeless tone and looks of the original (with a solid mahogany body, spruce top and parallelogram fret inlays), but also include an autographed soundhole label, custom case and certificate of authenticity.
A large percentage of the profit from each Epiphone Texan sold was donated to Adopt A Landmine. “It's exciting to have my old guitar reproduced by Gibson”, noted Macca at the release. “It's exact and what's more it sounds great.”
All case candy, as you’d expect, is present, case, certificate, dehumidifier and tags. One of the best available, only played upon delivery and then again following set-up at Manson’s prior to sale. and a rare opportunity to pick up and excellent example of a highly collectable guitar.
