About this listing
This 1982 Squier Stratocaster is a JV-series ’62 Reissue in classic 3-Color Sunburst, built at the very start of the Fender Japan era when Squier was introduced as Fender’s vintage-style, Japan-made line. These early “JV” instruments from 1982–83 are widely sought after now, especially early ones that have the small “by Fender” logo on the headstock, like this one.As a ’62 reissue, it follows the familiar Stratocaster recipe: a comfortable bolt-on maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, vintage-style tremolo, and three single-coil pickups for the full set of Strat tones, from glassy neck sounds to brighter bridge bite and the in-between “quack” positions. It has standard playwear and a few minor dings consistent with age. There are plenty of frets left, it plays great, and it is very resonant. Weight is 3700g. Includes hardshell case.SPECIFICATIONSYear: 1982Series: JV (Japanese Vintage)Model: ’62 Reissue StratocasterFinish: 3-Color SunburstBody: solid body, 2-pieceNeck: maple, bolt-on constructionFingerboard: rosewood with dot inlaysScale length: 25.5 inFrets: 21, plenty of life remainingNut width: approx 42 mmRadius: vintage-style profile (7.25 in)Pickguard: white 3-ply stylePickups: 3x Strat-style single-coilsControls: master volume, neck tone, middle toneSwitching: 5-way blade selectorBridge: vintage-style 6-screw tremolo with bent-steel saddlesTuners: vintage Kluson-styleHardware: chromeCondition notes: standard playwear, minor dingsWeight: 3700g
