Burns Scorpion in Satin Black
Its just been set up with brand new d’addario coated bass stings-it
plays great top to bottom
In great condition this is quality built-some small scuffs but nothing
major- a small chip at the bottom
It feels absolute solid bit of kit
SCORPION BASS
The Scorpion Bass might look out of place
next to the other reissue Burns Basses (Bison and Marquee models), but this is
also in fact a recreation of a Burns bass from yesteryear. Ths original
Scorpion Bass was launched in 1979 and clearly shows that Burns were aiming at
a younger and “angrier” type of bass player. Heavy Metal was born
around these days, and the Scorpion bass fitted right in.
To obtain the maximum punch, Burns chose a
standard 34″ scale for this bass.
Electronics are maybe more straightforward
than other Burns models, with the tried and tested P/J pickup arrangement,
controlled by 1 Master Volume, 2 Tones and 1 three way Telecaster type lever
switch. Of course there is a hidden plus: a mini-switch to connect both pickups
out of phase, producing a thin and nasal effect, perfect for guitar-like parts
and as an effect too for intros, etc.
