Electro-Harmonix Unveils the New Tri Parallel Mixer | SNAMM 2019

With this year's Summer NAMM kicking off in Nashville in just a few short days, we're starting to see the familiar pre-show first-wave of releases. Today, effects giant Electro-Harmonix joined the mix, with its unveiling of the new Tri Parallel Mixer—an effects loop mixer/switcher.

EHX bills the Tri Parallel Mixer as an "effects creation and mixing hub," featuring three separate effects loops with flexible controls and functionality. According to the brand's website, players can use the compact Tri Parallel in a variety of very unique ways—one of which is by running up to three separate effects loops in parallel.

As Tom from EHX explains in the video below, "Most of us typically play our effects in series, running one pedal into another. In parallel, this allows for isolated tones to be heard together, side-by-side, which can create sounds that are just not possible in series."

But that's not all that's cool about this pedal. It also has an XOR mode, which means only one of the three channels can be active at a time, which allows players to create three distinct pedal combinations and switch between them. Additionally, you can send a single instrument out to three different amplifiers, or mix a three separate instruments in a single input.

Like Boss' SY-1, which was also announced today, the Tri Parallel Mixer offers a ton of flexibility and functionality in a really compact format. Check out the rest of EHX's video above, and check back soon to find out when you can get yours on Reverb.
