ARIA PRO II SB-900 BASS - *RARE* MATSUMOKU 1979 SERIES #1 - w/OHSC

Early production year and the rarest model in the series, the superb passive, 2-pickup SB-900.

The first series c.1977-80 had the so-called 'Bat Wing' head form and 'The'  added to the head decal.

Produced at the legendary Matsumoku plant, the superb build quality has turned these early Aria SB basses into modern classics.

Condition-wise...

It has been very well maintained and is all original.

The only cosmetic flaws are some fairly typical lacquer wear to the lower fretboard edge (which cannot be felt in use) and tarnishing to some of the original metalware, namely the tuners and the back cover panels.

Body, head and neck are all in super condition. Not a blemish worth photographing. The original brass bridge and nut are also clean.

The original Aria pickups, tuners & controls all function perfectly and the electrics are smooth and crackle-free.

All these Aria through-neck basses are beautifully balanced with enough sustain to get you through to the next blue moon.

Just back from a full pro set up this now has brand new strings (not pictured), spot-on intonation and a comfortable fast action.

In Summary...

You sometimes see reports out there from former owners who sold one of these in a mad fit of alternate guitar acquisition, only to deeply regret it later.

For sound, feel and their peerless build quality, these early Matsumoku SBs really are unbeatable. And the SB-900 is arguably the most collectable of the lot.

A genuine keeper...

A Note On Shipping:

We want you to be fully satisfied with everything - from the item itself (naturally!) through the shipping, packaging, communication etc.

Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.

The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.

For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.

Vintage Instruments & Equipment

Shipping by air plus climatic changes can affect how a guitar is set up - no matter how well it is packed. Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
