Im Angebot ist ein NATAL Classic Percussion Set mit den Heritage-Finishes Rot/Weiß.

Die Congas haben die Größe 11 und 12“ und die Höhe 30“ und wiegen jeweils durchschnittlich 11kg. Bongos haben die Größe 7,5 und 8,5“ und wiegen übliche etwa 5,4 kg

Die Instrumente wurden mit den von Alan Sharp ursprünglich hergestellten Schalen der 1960er Jahre im Auftrag des seit 2010 neuen Eigentümers Marshall, in Taiwan hergestellt.

Die Hardware aus poliertem Chromstahl besteht aus sechs kräftigen Stimmhaken, die mit länglichen Platten verbunden sind, die jeweils mit vier sicheren Befestigungsschrauben versehen sind. Handverlesene Felle aus echtem Büffelleder sind auf stabilen Comfortrims aufgezogen. Außerdem gibt es ein schützendes Mittelband aus passendem verchromtem Stahl.

Bei den Bongos ist besonders zu erwähnen, dass es keine sichtbaren Verbindungsschrauben zwischen Macho und Hembra gibt. Es ist alles in Fiberglas verarbeitet und auf Lebenszeit stabil.

Dieses Set wurde zwei Mal zu Promotionszwecken aufgebaut und ist seither sicher in der Sammlung gelagert worden. Die Felle sind aus gleichmäßigen und sehr gut klingenden Wasserbüffelhäuten hergestellt.

Der Gesamtzustand ist ausgezeichnet, fast wie neu. Es gibt keine Gebrauchsspuren!

Der Name NATAL ist eine Wortschöpfung aus den Vornamen des Firmengründers und seiner Frau, NATalie und ALan. Natal Drums (früher bekannt als Natal Percussion Company) war ein englischer Schlagzeug- und Hardwarehersteller mit Sitz in Bletchley, England, Vereinigtes Königreich.

Natal Percussion stellte seit Mitte der 60er Jahre erstklassige Instrumente her, und ihre ursprünglichen Glasfaser-Congas waren auf vielen Bühnen weltweit zu finden, mit Gruppen wie Fleedwood Mac, T-Rex, Led Zeppelin, den Rolling Stones und Santana.

Die heutige Natal Classic Serie wurde in Taiwan nach den Spezifikationen der originalen, bahnbrechenden Natal Fiberglas Congas und Bongos aus den 1960er Jahren handgefertigt.

Die Bongos haben einen coolen, einheitlichen Look, bei dem der Block in der gleichen Farbe wie die beiden Trommeln lackiert ist. Die Stahlreifen und die Hardware der Bongos sind absolut solide.

Die natürliche Lautstärke der Fiberglas-Trommeln ist höher als bei vergleichbaren Holzmodellen. Die Slaps sind präsent, die Opens offen und klar. Der Fiberglasbody produziert ausgewogene Mitten und die Bässe.

Im Jahr 2010 wurde Natal von Marshall Amplification übernommen und weiterentwickelt. Interessant: Dr. Jim Marshall OBE, selbst ein talentierter Schlagzeuger hat Natal Percussion in seinem Londoner Musikgeschäft verkauft - und zwar genau in dem Geschäft, wo die ersten Marshall-Verstärker gebaut wurden.

On offer is a NATAL Classic Percussion Set with the Heritage finishes red/white.

The congas are size 11“ and 12“ and 30“ in height and weigh an average of 11kg each. Bongos are size 7.5“ and 8.5“ and usually weigh about 5.4 kg

The instruments were manufactured in Taiwan using the shells originally made by Alan Sharp in the 1960s on behalf of Marshall, the new owner since 2010.

The polished chrome steel hardware consists of six strong tuning hooks connected to elongated plates, each provided with four secure fixing screws. Hand-picked genuine buffalo leather heads are mounted on sturdy comfort rims. There is also a protective center band made of matching chrome-plated steel.

A special feature of the bongos is that there are no visible connecting screws between macho and hembra. Everything is made of fiberglass and is stable for life.

This set was set up twice for promotional purposes and has since been safely stored in the collection. The skins are made from even and very good sounding water buffalo hides.

The overall condition is excellent, almost like new. There are no signs of use!

Today's Natal Classic series was handmade in Taiwan to the specifications of the original, groundbreaking Natal fiberglass congas and bongos from the 1960s.

The bongos have a cool, uniform look with the block painted in the same color as the two drums. The steel hoops and hardware of the bongos are absolutely solid.

The natural volume of the fiberglass drums is higher than comparable wooden models. The slaps are present, The open beats are bright and clear. The fiberglass body produces balanced mids and basses.

In 2010, Natal was taken over by Marshall Amplification and further developed. Interesting fact: Dr. Jim Marshall OBE, a talented drummer himself, sold Natal Percussion in his London music store - the very store where the first Marshall amplifiers were built.
