GIBSON Les Paul "ARTIST", Fire Burst color, made in USA in 1980, Nordin period, collaboration with Moog.
Only 500 copies made.
GIBSON had ordered for this series, 500 special tailpieces from Kahler, its usual supplier of spare parts.
Extraordinary guitar: Moog electronics, the sounds of the Tim Shaw microphones, the violin making, the finish etc. are fabulous.
Note the original brass nut and the gold-plated trussrod cover.
Very rare to mention it.
Electronics: Active circuits (Moog "ACTIVE MOOG electronics" card) pulsed by 3 switches injecting a "compression", "expander (general boost) and "high boost" effect. And these 3 effects are adjustable by the rear panel (powered by 9 volt battery).
Huge sustain and resonance. Mahogany body, and ebony fingerboard.
Very good general condition, relatively few signs of life for its age, guitar played with great care, the frets are original, they are played and marked, but no frieze issues, the game is a treat, a real pleasure.
No need to refret for the moment, but we have decided to lower the price of the guitar by €400 in case you want to do it later.
(Argus price: €7000)
