For sale, an all original blast from the past: made in USA circa mid 1960 according to the tailpiece of the Silvertone Archtops of that era. The Pickup is a humbucker, a special Benedetto S-6 Floating / Suspended Jazz Pickup Handmade by Seymour Duncan In the USA. These are among the pickups installed in the highly regarded archtop guitars of renowned luthier Robert Benedetto that is specifically voiced to mirror the balance, warmth and richness of a fine acoustic archtop guitar. It is a sealed humbucker with an Alnico 5 bar magnet, 2-conductor wire, and a mounting tab that is attached beneath the pickguard - There is no drilling or alteration needed to the body of the original guitar save for the jack socket.  I tried to maintain her as close to the original state as possible. The two small holes in the scratch plate are meant for the two pots. Volume and Tone, that can be easily installed by any guitar tech. As she is now it's without any tone cut and maximum volume.

This is an incredible guitar with that great archtop sound. The action is low and there are no buzzes or rattles. It just plays like a dream. This guitar gave me nothing but pleasure over the years but it's time to let her go because I've come to the conclusion that I have more guitars than I need at the moment and I can't play them all, so what's the point of having them gathering dust. I used it only in the studio and never got to take her on the road, mainly because live you can play only so many instruments and I generally only play the acoustic guitar or banjo. It was my only electric guitar on my second album and you can easily hear her true sound if you search the tube for studio versions of that album “Like The wolf” by the band a Jigsaw.

Everything from slide to solos to rhythm. All things electric and I also dubbed some of the acoustic sound of the guitar captured by microphone that has that sweet sound of an old archtop when these were made to ring and mixed with the other acoustic guitars.

The only signs of wear she has are the ones shown on the photo of the bottom of the guitar and that is really only the white paint and has nothing to do with the wood or the structure of the guitar. It is indeed spotless, and most especially spotless for a 60 year old guitar. The craftsmanship of these Silvertones is really something else. You can fake it some with solid body guitars and powerful pickups, but with these acoustic beasts either you nail the acoustics or you don't.

The hardcase goes with the guitar obviously. one can never be too safe.
