Here we have a fairly uncommon and very cool Gretsch. This is Gretsch's regular 6120 prior to the Fender era. Built in the Terada factory & built to recall the classic western appointed 6120s of the 50s but not be a direct reissue per se, these are great guitars for anyone wanting a basic 6120. The hollow body is laminated maple for classic tone. The rosewood fingerboard features unique block markers. Dual Filtertron pickups deliver a vintage tone. Sealed Gretsch tuners and an adjustable roller bridge keep it rock solid. A Bigsby V-cut vibrato tailpiece brings the twang. The finish is classic Gretsch orange transparent.
This guitar is in beautiful, unmarked condition with some mild tarnishing on the tremolo and the palm side of the bridge. She plays great with a low action and a lovely feel. The frets are perfect and the neck is straight. The pickups sound tremendous and offer tons of vintage tone. Everything works just as it should. Just a great guitar & is a solid example in 9/10 condition. She sleeps in her original Gretsch hardshell case.
These early reissues are a cool mix of features and eras. From an era when Gretsch was just getting back it's footing. These just don't turn up as much as newer 6120s. Here's your chance to grab a really lovely example.
