Since the 1960s, Black Beauty snares have been enriching the sound of countless musical greats. There is hardly a hit from the last 50 years that hasn’t featured these legendary snare drums from the USA. True to its traditions, Ludwig sticks to tried-and-tested formulas and has therefore made very few changes to the Black Beauty snares over the years.Black BeautyThese black beauties are crafted from a single sheet of brass, which is formed into a seamless shell with a flange and then given a nickel coating using a special process. The shell features a snare bed to ensure optimal snare wire contact and sound projection. The Black Beauty snare drums are available with the Supra-Phonic lift-off system (LB416/LB417) or with the Super-Sensitive system (LB418/LB419). Further features, such as the carefully forged, triple-flanged steel rims and Imperial lugs, round off the Black Beauty snare drums’ appearance, both visually and sonically.The unmistakable Black Beauty soundThe Black Beauty snares offer extremely sensitive response across all volume ranges and a phenomenally full, dry sound.
