Beautiful guitar made by the luthier Antonio Picado in Spain in Barcelona in 1987.

Antonio Picado was a very well-known luthier, working in an artisanal way with a small production. He opened his own workshop in Berga near Barcelona in the mid-80s after working for many years in the Taurus workshop with Arturo Grau. At that time he learned a lot, because it is interesting to note that in the 60s/70s, the Taurus workshops made the study guitars for the Ramirez house. Antonio Picado has now retired, but the workshops still exist and continue the tradition left by this discreet but talented luthier.

This is a model 60, at the time the highest model of this luthier, representing the "concert" model (the name of the C-1 concierto model appeared later). A very nice guitar, taking here the characteristics of Ramirez models. The table barrage is similar to the 1A models, and the dimensions are similar with a 664mm scale. The guitar work is superb! A very beautiful table in slightly tracked spruce (Bearclaw), back and slats in rosewood, cedar handle with reinforcement at the back, ebony touch, a very nice marquetry on the nets and the rose... Very beautiful work! In the sound we will find a certain proximity with the Ramirez of that time: Power, clarity, definition, roundness, hold... And this characteristic stamp, also close to the Madrid school.

A very beautiful guitar that deserves to be remembered! The best is to come and try it to see the capabilities of the instrument.

Sound and comfort:

This guitar exudes a powerful, precise, clear, fleshy, balanced sound...

I advise you to come and try it on the spot for your own opinion. The string height is comfortably set to 3.6 mm in mid bass and 3.1 mm mid treble at the 12th fret. The handle with a thin D-profile and easy to handle.

Note that the guitar is not new, but in a very good condition for its 38 years!

We note some slight marks of surface, fine scratches, the varnish had little damaged on certain edges of nets... Not much so, she is quite healthy, regulated, and ready to play.

In short, a beautiful guitar of a talented luthier, in the style Ramirez, which sounds!
