We are selling this Philips PCM-100 music tape FM synthesizer made in Netherlands 1988!
SERIAL NUMBER: 015346
CONDITION: This Philips PCM-100 works perfectly and it comes in excellent cosmetical condition for its age with some minor cosmetical traces of use. It includes the original data tape “PCM-100 Music Data” and a compatible brand-new power supply!
The only thing that doesn't work is the cassette counter. It's probably a belt that needs replacing, but this doesn't affect the overall functioning of the instrument which is perfect. The tape section (play, rec, etc.), on the other hand, works perfectly. Super rare and collectible item! Real vintage gem: grab a bargain!
DESCRIPTION: The 1980s were a nice period, when you could try something out: combine a Walkman and a drum pad with a synthesizer, and you have a portable music studio. Which can make lovely old school (LO-FI) sounds and video game tunes nowadays. This digital portable music sketchpad by Philips was launched in 1986. This portable music computer had a nine-channel FM synth with 100 sounds, a membrane keyboard, 8K of RAM and its most notable feature is the built-in tape deck. This enabled you to save your compositions as audio or data.
There is a tape deck in the PMC100, which you can use to load or save songs, to play audio tapes and/or recording your songs as audio. The PMC100 also has a built-in microphone to record your vocals with.
There are 100 pre-programmed sounds present, largely from the collection of Yamaha PortaSound, but there also are surprising and usable sound effects in it with delays. Also cool brass sounds and pads. It’s a charming instrument to make music with in its own, incredible lo-fi way.
FEATURES:
• 2 octave membrane keyboard to play and for digital recording
• Compose yourself with a range of 4 octaves
• 100 very useful FM sounds
• Memory for 2,000 notes
• 6 music and 5 rhythm tracks
• 12 accompaniment styles with 4 play modes
• Built-in microphone
• Stereo recording and playback and sequencer-data recording on audio tapes
• In good optical condition, see photos
• Technically 100% in order
• Works also on batteries (6x 1.5 volts size AA)
• 9 Volt EU brand new power supply (included!)
A super cool retro 1980s FM Synthesizer with sequencer, tape recorder and microphone. Perfect for lo-fi, 8-bit and other electronic music with various ADHD rhythm patterns and 100 instant 80s FM-sounds.
