Catalinbread Tremolo 8
This project began as a digitised model of the Fender Showman's 'harmonic vibrato' to experiment with more LFOs and more tremolo styles. Catalinbread liked the sound of a tremolo rippling against a reverb like Magnatones or Vibro Champs, as on her Topanga Burnside, but took it a step further and added some trem-specific reverb algorithms and subtle tone control.
Then Catalinbread discovered that not all LFOs are created equal and decided to take advantage of their idiosyncrasies. On a completely different programme, the trem modulation with an overlay chorus sounded too good to leave out. While working on Many Worlds, Catalinbread took a liking to envelope-controlled phase angle and decided to develop an envelope-controlled trem rate with adjustable sensitivity and attack/decay to create stunning effects on chords or velocity-sensitive solos.
The Tremolo8 runs from 9 to 18 volts, giving a little more output, a boost for the dry signal and more headroom.
