Vintage J.W. York & Sons Cornet. Serial number indicates it was made in the original Grand Rapids, MI factory between 1905 & 1906. We believe this was played by my Great Grandfather while he was in the West Coast Marine Band. It is in fair working order. I used to play it 40 years ago. All slides but one work well, and there is a significant dent in the bell tube, (see photo). It needs a thorough cleaning, but other than that it is perfectly playable. No case, but includes a glass mouthpiece that was with it when we found it.
