About this listing
This is a vintage 1979 Guild D-40 in a beautiful sunburst finish that sounds killer. Spruce top, mahogany sides, and rosewood fretboard. Does not come with original case, but includes is a brand new hardshell case. The guitar is structurally sound including one small crack repair, that was done before I purchased it, right where the bottom of the fretboard meets the sound hole. I had the guitar serviced and checked out by the Luthiers at 12th Fret Guitars in Portland, OR just to be sure and everything seems solid. Besides that there are some some surface finish scratches/spidering, nicks, and a spot up towards the neck that looks like a weird burn or something in the finish. All in all, the wear is appropriate for what you would expect on any 47 year old acoustic guitar. The tuners seem to be original, as well as the bridge and maybe the nut. Hard to tell. The saddle looks like it was replaced at some point. The previous owner had a pickup system in it, (NO PU CURRENTLY) as there is an input jack on the heel as well as a strap button on the neck. The frets are still in great condition, with little wear for a guitar this age, and it plays great with medium-low action. Please see all pics for details and don't hesitate to reach out with questions or for more info. I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. I can also send more photos if interested. See attached video to get an idea of the sound!
