SolidGoldFX Releases NU-33 Vinyl Engine

If you're a musician who loves the crackle and pop of vinyl records, the warble of a not-quite-VG original pressing, or even just the comforting white noise of a turntable's ambient hiss, SolidGoldFX has created the pedal for you.

The NU-33 Vinyl Engine is a chorus/vibrato pedal with several twists, or, you could say, many rotations. You can not only adjust the flutter, but select an amount of lo-fi hisses and crackles, add color with two filter modes, and shape the warble with three different waveforms.

From there, you have even more precise control over the pedal's voice: You can double the signal from 15ms to 50ms, connect and assign functions to an expression pedal, or engage the multi-function footswitches to tap out the tempo, ramp to different speeds, or a engage the unique hold-to-skip function, which mimics the stutter of a scratched or warped record.

SolidGoldFX writes that they designed the NU-33 "to capture the vibe of some our favorite records such as a particularly worn-out copy of Black Sabbath's Master of Reality and an original pressing of Led Zeppelin I with just the perfect amount of static." Where you take it, of course, is up to you.

The NU-33 Vinyl Engine is available now on Reverb for $250 USD.
