Here’s another impressive Maybach Lester 59′ Midnight Sunset. Just look at that stunning maple top! They only seems to be getting better and better! Handmade in the EU with only the best materials and built to the highest standard in only limited numbers, it’s always a feast to see one of these fine guitars come in.

All Maybach guitars feature handwound Amber Spirit of 59′ pickups, which are probably the closets PAF reproduction on the market today. They have that articulate sparkle, associated with those low-output humbuckers from the good old days. The Nitro finish is aged very realistically and gives the guitar a genuine vintage feel and smell.. (yes, it even smells old, but in a good way!) As always the luxurious Maybach hardcase is included, which is a piece of beauty on it’s own!

The guitar is setup perfectly with a set of 10’s in the Maybach workshop, and play’s and sounds like the superb. Nice chunky neck, but no baseball bat here! I’m used to a slim 60’s profile myself, but love to feel on these necks. That bit of extra meat evidently contributes to the huge sustain this guitar has.
