About this listing
I'm not describing what it is because, if you are reading, I'm taking a wild guess that you know.I'll try to provide a kind of history here to be as transparent as possible. This unit has been used almost exclusively in my own smoke-free room since I bought it new in the late 1990s, barring very few occasions where I was mixing elsewhere around that time. I retired from full-time engineering in the mid 2000s but kept much of my equipment even though it wasn't really getting the use that it deserved and, now that I'm drawing my pension, I feel I can't justify keeping it - well, that and some hearing issues which, frankly, means that I can't really appreciate the upper regions. I sent it to Focusrite in January 2024 along with a Red 1 which I wanted to sell. The ISA 215 was deemed to be all within spec. I should really have sold this at the time as well as it's had very little use after returning home. Turning on this morning and it seems that it's OK though one of the phase switches has become non-latching - how that can happen with no use, I've no idea! This is why I've ticked 'Good' rather than 'Very Good' but it's really nearer the latter. A couple of the pots have minor blips when moved, no doubt because it's been unused for a period, and may well clear up over time.I'm not going to tick 'as described' because there's no way I'd want to sell something where some issues had been hidden. Though I hope I've been fair and accurate in what I've described. It was the first quality mic amp that I bought so I'm posting this before sentimentality makes me delete the draft.
