This violin was made in 1944 by Italian maker Silvio Tua (signed inside on table fait par Silvio Tua, nella 1944 ) , who after studying violin making by famous Bisiach, moved to France and opened very successful lutherie and violin shop in Nice, France. His violins were praised for their good sound and quality, possessing Italian sound qualities and also unmistakable French touch also. Sure, he should sell his instruments to French customers! Comes with appraisal letter confirming it is made by Silvio Tua.
In a excellent state of preservation- no issues on important areas, tiny, nearly invisible professionally repaired hairline cracks near discant FF and tailpiece , just some chips on varnish and some signs of regular professional use (see photos). Good varnish, good tonewoods, excellent masterwork.
This violin has a very fine clear & refined tone with outstanding resonance.It has superb projection & a fast response time. It is violin for SOLOIST!
It features a very well-balanced sound between the high & low registers.
This instrument would be suitable for professional soloists as well as for better orchestra/chamber musicians. Good player, easy to hold, very responding, made for player . LOB 36.0mm

Currently market value for such instrument is in a price range of 15 000 - 20 000 (at our violin shop currently 12 000, if you are near Riga,Latvia you are very welcome to visit our shop and try all instruments), but It will outplay tonally nearly every instrument in price range up to 25 000.
