We use Black Cherry as the primary choice of body wood for its unique ability to add extra sustain. The purpose of the half skirt cutaway on the body is to provide smooth playing acting so the guitar body itself is is minimized in blocking the movement of your right hand in picking/strumming. The Headstock is also extended to give you better access to the first fret.
