Circa 1940s Abbott Victor Burlington III Archtop guitar with Bill Lawrence floating pickup installed. This guitar has been played and has some wear and marks but is a rare example of this fine guitar makers work. It features a hand carved solid spruce top and highly flamed solid maple back and sides. The serial number is 281 nd is visible on the label inside the F hole with a faint signature also visible. The tuners are replacement white button Kluson deluxe and the scratchplate is also a replacement I think. The neck shows heavy play wear and there is some fretwear in places but the not too bad and the neck is straight and playable. The strings are recent but not new and possibly should be a little heavier gauge on this guitar. The body has lots of small marks as you would expect from a 70+ year old instrument. The guitar is a lovely rich honey colour and and the fretboard is bound Ebony. Comes with period hard case which is a little tatty but does the job. Will be well packaged and boxed for shipping.
