About this listing
Up for grabs is this scarce Mustang Bass factory finished in rare California Blue. It's of one of the best colours ever but not a finish we see often on Mustang basses, we only had one or two before in CBL over the years. It's Fender Japan of course, not Mexican. CIJ Q-Serial from the 2002-2004 period. Meticulously crafted as you’d expect from Fender Japan with top quality alder body, dark rosewood fingerboard, maple neck, cream perloid pickguard & Seymour Duncan USA designed MB Pups. It looks killer and has that great punchy retro feel you get from good shortscale Fender Japan Mustang basses. Neck is straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life in the frets. Some nice maple grain on the amber tinted neck and headstock. Structurally and electrically sound, no issues whatsoever. There are some dings on the back and scratches/scuffs etc, so not mint with one notable paint chip on one edge that can been seen in the pics. One tuner is also very slightly bent. Weight is 3.9kg. Complete with original Fender Japan padded softcase. An astoundingly well put together Mustang Bass in a very rare Fender Japan colour. Shades of blue are hard to catch accurately. Please refer to the last two pictures to gauge the most accurate representation on the true colour of this one.
