About this listing
Warwick was founded in Germany in the early 1980s by Hans-Peter Wilfer and quickly became one of the defining modern European bass makers. The company’s identity was built around neck-through construction, compact ergonomic body shapes, distinctive tonewoods and active electronics. The Streamer is one of Warwick’s core models, introduced in the 1980s and strongly associated with the brand’s rise among professional rock, funk and fusion bass players. The Streamer Stage I is the more refined neck-through version of the Streamer design, with a carved body, long upper horn, slim offset outline and the typical Warwick 2-piece bridge system. By the 1990s, the model had become a well-established German-made professional bass, usually combining a maple body, maple neck construction, wenge fingerboard, active electronics and gold hardware. This 1997 Warwick Streamer Stage I is a German-made 4-string example in natural finish with gold hardware and a P/J pickup layout. It has standard playwear on the body, plus finish wear from arm contact on the upper bout. The frets have been dressed and are in excellent playing condition, and the bass plays great. Weight is 4000g. Includes a non-original gig bag.SPECIFICATIONSModel: Warwick Streamer Stage I BassYear: 1997Country of manufacture: GermanyConstruction: Neck-throughBody: flamed maple wingsNeck: flamed maple with dark veneer stringersFingerboard: wengeScale length: 864 mmNut width: 38.5 mmFrets: 24 bell-brass fretsInlays: side dotsPickups: MEC active P/J pickup setElectronics: active Warwick/MEC EQ systemControls: volume with active/passive function, pickup balance, bass, mid and treble EQBridge: Warwick adjustable 2-piece bridgeMachine heads: Warwick tunersHardware: goldFinish: natural oil / satin finishOrientation: right-handedStrings: 4-stringCase: non-original gig bag
