This beautiful Tele is a real find. As you probably know by now, GSG loves rare Fender Japan models and this is only the second ever Dr K Telecaster we have ever found in factory finished Two Tone Sunburst. It's a 1991 (CIJ P-Serial) based loosely on a ’62 custom with an alder body and maple neck & fingerboard. Only a small handful of these were ever built for the Japanese market that we know of and they rarely show up for sale, the ones that turn up are usually Fiesta Red. They were built as a signature guitar for a Japanese player called Hirofumi Tokutake (Dr. K). The only other bound body 60’s Tele with a maple fingerboard Fender Japan built was the Albert Collins Tele, but that has an ash body. Anyway, like a lot of non-export Japanese Fenders, this is a superbly built guitar. It definitely has the looks and plays amazing. It has a thicker neck, a bit like the Kotzen. It is all in all original condition. The 2 x Lace Sensor Golds and Seymor Duncan Jerry Donahue sound amazing, very sharp with serious bite. There are no issues at all. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine and plenty of life left in the frets. Weight is very good at 3.5kg. It has some light playwear, with some bumps and scuffs but nothing big or nasty, no paint chips or notable dings. Complete with Playtech hardcase and key. A stunning Telecaster. It’s one of the rarer factory built Fender Telecasters you will see. A great investment and wonderful Tele. At Gas Station Guitars, each instrument is carefully hand-selected.
