Greco EJR59-DC Cherry Red 1980s Mint Collection "1959 Les Paul Jr Double-cutaway model"
【About This item and Sound】
The EJR59-DC is a gem of a Greco Les Paul Junior model, coveted by MIJ guitar enthusiasts. The Les Paul Junior double cutaway body of the 1959 model is perfectly reproduced with a “deep joint set neck”. It just looks beautiful and great and cool! And very lightweight!
The sound from the simple body construction and one pickup is straight R&R royalty, and the 18-degree head angle, deep-jointed set neck, and other specs that were carefully chosen for the build quality produce a truly wonderful sound.
Using the Volume and Tone controls and combinations, a variety of sounds can be produced, which is probably due to the quality of the guitar itself. It can handle 60's R&R, 70's punk rock with more gain, and even today's primitive rock. Sometimes it growls like a boomie, sometimes it bites like a hound! It's a rock guitar loved by artists who are straight to the point and soulful, no matter what time of year it is!

【 About "Greco", "Mint Collection Series" 】
Greco is the leading vintage guitar brand in Japan owned by Kanda Shokai. Kanda Shokai is the most important wholesaler of musical instruments when considering vintage guitars in Japan. Greco guitars are famous for their Gibson series replicas, such as Les Paul replicas of the EG series (Super Real/Mint Collection), but Greco's Fender series replicas made Fender U.S.A. groan. (That became Fender Japan.)
In the late 1970s, Greco began producing the "Super Real " Series replica models that reproduced with great attention to detail the differences in body shape, appearance, and period specifications, setting a milestone in the history of vintage guitars in Japan. However, Greco aimed to take the Gibson Replica Series to a higher level by reproducing vintage Gibson features such as the "Deep joint set neck". The ultimate replica series is the "Mint Collection "series.
Why is the term “Japan Vintage” used for an old Greco guitar that is admired around the world? Play this guitar and you'll find out, because more than 40 years ago, I discovered the essence of vintage Gibson and acquired its obsession.
