About this listing
One of the rarest pieces of the 1960s American guitar world, the Danelectro Model 9100 is a tube-driven spring reverb unit straight out of Neptune, New Jersey. This is a standalone reverb box, not a pedal, and it delivers that deep, cavernous spring reverb character that defined the surf and garage sound of the era.The unit operates as a pure reverb box, not an amplifier. The single knob controls the wet/dry blend: higher settings give you a more direct, dry signal, while dialing it back progressively wets the signal until you reach the full, washy spring reverb at the low end of the dial. Think surf, psychedelic, and vintage studio ambience in one box. This example is in working condition. Tested and functioning as it should.Note: when shipping, the spring is cushioned internally to protect the fragile transducers during transit. This unit runs on 117v (standard US mains).Danelectro did not build these with the intention of surviving 50+ years, which makes a working example all the more remarkable. A lot of 9100s were discarded the moment someone could afford something more expensive, making surviving units genuinely scarce.A piece of American guitar history. Questions welcome.
