It represents the upper tier of Cordoba guitars and is made in small numbers by highly qualified luthiers. It sells new for about $3500 USD and in terms of sound and quality of the build, it is certainly worth that much. This is a great opportunity to buy an excellent copy of a Friederich guitar at a very small fraction of the cost of a real one.The condition of the guitar is basically mint or very close to mint. The finish is in great condition. The tuners have been replaced with a pair of Gotoh tuners which work much better than the original ones that came with the guitar. The internal construction of the guitar is very clean and is done with great attention to detail - basically at the same level as a luthier-made instrument. The action is set at 3.1 mm on the 1st string and 3.8 mm on the 6th string at the 12th fret. The saddle sticks out 1.3 mm on the treble side and 2.4 mm on the bass side. This is basically the standard classical action height (as close as I can get it to 3 mm treble, 4 mm bass) that I play on all of my guitars. In terms of playability, the guitar is a joy to play with no issues anywhere on the neck. This guitar weighs about 1780 grams with the tuners and strings on it.The sound of the guitar is very strong with a very good balance between bass and treble. It has very good volume and sustain. There is great clarity in the trebles – more so than let’s say in the sound of a Rodriguez or Ramirez model guitar. This is a result of the stiffer internal bracing of the Friederich model compared to most other traditionally braced cedar top guitars. I have played this guitar in front of people many times and have received great feedback about its sound. The sound sample video was recorded with a set of Savarez 510CRP normal tension nylon strings. These are among the most generic nylon strings available and allow the guitar to bring out its voice without coloring it. This guitar does not need carbon strings to sound great. It has more than enough volume and clarity with the most basic nylon strings. For a sound sample please see the youtube video from my posting. Here is what you get when you buy a guitar from me. I have been playing classical guitar since I was a kid and continue to play actively on a daily basis. As a result, every guitar I sell has a video that showcases its sound recorded with decent microphones. Every guitar I buy goes through thorough cleaning and setup to ensure its playability is up to my standard. Adjustments are made to the nut and saddle or new ones made depending on their condition, the frets are levelled, crowned and polished and the fingerboard is conditioned, and sometimes other adjustments are made as required. It does take time to do these things (several hours in fact) but as a result, the guitars I sell are playable right out of the case even though some are 40-50 years old.The guitar will be shipped well packed with strings loosened in its original Cordoba hard case as seen in the pictures. The case is in excellent condition and only has a few marks on it from regular use. I have bought and sold a long list of classical guitars over the years, so buy with confidence.
