Item Description

The Denon DP-7700, released in Japan in 1976 during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment, is a high quality direct-drive turntable which was the highest-end model from Denon in that year. Amongst Japan-savvy audiophiles the DP-7700 has a phenomenal reputation for its quality of sound as well as construction. It features a PWM circuit with low waveform distortion for driving its AC servo motor (quartz phase lock). Rotation frequency and phase feedback is done with Denon’s magnetic detection system. As a result, rotational speed fluctuations are extremely small (± <0.002%), providing you with phenomenal pitch reproduction during record playback. Overall, the DP-7700 is a great example of a fantastic vintage turntable, made with the level of quality and attention to detail that made Japanese turntables from this era famous among audiophiles.

This turntable includes Denon’s DA-307 Tonearm. This tonearm, released in 1978, is a high-end tonearm which incorporates an innovative dynamic damping mechanism. There is a rubber damper with ideal properties insulating the pipe from the body of the tonearm. This helps to suppress vibrational feedback in the arm and better bring out the character of the cartridge. There is a micrometer stylus pressure adjustment and a non-contact-type inside force cancellation system. The DA-307 has high-grade ball bearings for horizontal motion. It’s overall a superb tonearm.

This particular unit is in very good condition, with some wear throughout (please see photos). There are some scratches, scuffs and discoloration on the surface of the body. The dust cover has scratches and tape marks.This turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. Both 33 and 45 settings work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork.
