The LS series started in 1978 with the aim of faithfully reproducing the Gibson Les Paul model.

The guitar produced by carefully selected wood and skilled craftsmen

It has gained a worldwide reputation for its high-quality sound and the high quality unique to Japan.

Today, it boasts tremendous popularity alongside the original Les Paul beyond the framework of replica models.

Even now, we are sticking to manual processes and manufacturing under the principle of "inefficient production".

Precise woodwork with little deviation and adhesion with traditional glue are attractive.

This time, in order to further pursue the traditional LP sound, we have further upgraded the popular model LS148F of the current LS series.

-Specification changes-

①Neck grip

We brought our stock Burst made in 1960 to Tokai Gakki, measured the neck grip shape, and reproduced the slim neck at that time.

② Neck angle

The regular model has changed the neck preparation angle from 4.5 degrees to 3.8 degrees.

This brings it closer to Gibson's 1959 Les Paul about 3 degrees, slightly weakening the string tension and improving the sweetness and sustain of the sound. In addition, the height of the bridge is also lowered, so the string height at the high position is also lowered, improving the solo performance.

③Pickup position

The position of the rear PU is changed below (bridge side) than the regular model, and the pickup is placed in the same position as Gibson. The sound clarity and sharpness of the rear PU have increased, and the amplitude of the sound with the front PU has increased.

You can switch between a rock sound that bites and a sweet, mellow sound without changing your amp settings.

④ Equipped with a coil tap.

In addition to the classic Les Paul sound, you can also output a light single-coil sound without changing the guitar. By pulling up the front and rear volume knobs, it is possible to tap each PU, and it is a function that is increasingly requested in modern times where a variety of expressions are often required with one. The tap function has a slightly different concept than the Vintage sound, but it was installed with the aim of realizing a wide range of sounds like Jimmy Page.

⑤ Specifications of selected materials (selected materials are used for the body back and fingerboard)

We chose a lightweight material for the body back and aimed to make it lighter than the regular model. The fingerboard is also a dark fingerboard selected.

Weight is one of the criteria for a good quality Les Paul.

If the weight increases, it will be masked by the low frequencies. Lightweight individual emphasizes light and biting high frequencies.

It produces an LP sound with a waist and an edge.

[Playability/sound impression]

It has a slim neck that is easy to grip. I think that even people with small hands can hold it firmly.

Because the weight is light and the balance between the neck and body is good.

It feels lighter than the numerical value.

When you sit down and put it on your lap, the body side is kept horizontal without sinking.

Stress-free performance is possible.

If it is a heavy individual, you can feel the high range that is masked by the low range.

Les Paul-like core high range and mellow mid-low range wraps the entire sound,

You can feel the sweet and sticky vintage taste sound.

The rear has a biting edge and tenacity. The front is thick and sweet tone.

The center position seems to be addicted to funk music and backing chord work of songs.

When the tone is turned down, the bitter and dry sound is very nice and very jazzy.

When distorted, the rear has a thick and sticky roar-like powerful drive sound, and the front has a sweet and long tone.

Depending on the setting and the personality of the player, you can serve in various genres such as blues, jazz, funk, fusion, hard rock, etc.
