The Marshall 6100LM is easily one of my favorite heads ever made. I've owned and toured with several of them over the years and this one sounds great. I purchased this particular unit on reverb after seeing it listed and feeling the nostalgia. I rarely play out and as amazing as it sounds, it rarely gets turned up past bedroom levels. I can't justify keeping it with the other amps I've got so it is time to find a new home.
If you're unfamiliar with these, they were a limited run unit to celebrate the 30th Anniversary. The idea was to take the best amps Marshall had ever made and jam them into one head. The result was a three channel amp with multiple modes to cover JTM45-Plexi-JCM800-JCM900 and multiple lead/compression/gain levels. It is easily one of the most versatile amps I've had the pleasure of owning. Glorious tube tone at virtually any volume you could want, fx loop for pedals, and a footswitch (included here) to boot. Awesome package.
Three channels, each with selection switches
Channel 1 (mid shift and bright)
Channel 2 (contrasting crunch modes)
Channel 3 (gain boost and mid band contour selection)
Channel switching by footswitch, midi control, or from front panel switches with LED indicator)Sensitivity switches, one each for low or high compensation, to match guitar pickup
Power control allows high (4 valve, 100 watts) or low (2 valve, 50 watts) mode output
Pentode or triode mode operation in either mode gives effective power range from 100 down to 25 watts
Mechanically and functionally, this amp is 10/10 and was checked out and serviced recently. Cosmetically, the thing is perfect except for screw marks on the top tolex from handle repositioning (these units are heavily weighted to one side and this is a common mod to make them easier to carry.) I've included a a youtube link to a sample video (not my own) for you to get some ideas. Check out the web and you'll find these units have a cult-like following and sound way better than the modern channel switchers Marshall has been putting out.
I'm willing to ship anywhere in the US. I used Reverb's standard estimates pricing for this listing. It may be slightly higher or lower. If it's nuts I'll cover the difference.
You're welcome to meet me for a local pick up near Charleston, West Virginia.
I'm willing to deliver within a few hours drive (parts of WV, OH, KY, PA) if you cover a little gas money.
If you need a 2x12, I may also have an Eminence Legend loaded closed back cab available for purchase for $275. Just shoot me and offer and I'll respond quickly. Thanks!
