Since the early 1960s, Marshall amplifiers have been at the forefront of defining rock guitar tone, known for their signature crunch and tight, powerful low end. Inspired by those classic tones, the Plexi-Drive Mini delivers a similar character—ranging from vintage late-’60s Plexi-style breakup to the full, saturated roar of a cranked JTM-style amp.
A newly introduced Mid Boost switch—unique within this range—adds a rich, tube-like emphasis by adjusting multiple gain stages simultaneously. Combined with the Tone and Gain controls, this provides a wide palette of sounds from such a compact pedal. While many players traditionally stack overdrive pedals into Plexi-style circuits to enhance response, this design integrates those characteristics directly into the mid boost function, resulting in a dynamic and responsive gain structure with plenty of output on tap.
Additionally, the Bass Boost switch simulates the tonal difference between larger and smaller speaker cabinets, giving you the feel of switching between a 4x12 and a 2x12 setup within a single pedal.
