The first model in the Tak Matsumoto Signature Series!
Manufactured in 1999, the first year of its release, this is the inaugural Tak Matsumoto signature model?a regular-line Tak Matsumoto model crafted by Gibson USA?featuring a Japanese guitarist who remains an indispensable part of the Gibson artist roster to this day.If wefre talking about the beginning of a legend that would later lead to the gTAK DCh and gTAK FBh models, it has to be this gCanary Yellowh guitar. The impact of the Canary Yellow finish on the body top?a color inspired by Matsumotofs own Ferrari?was immense, and its unique look, unlike anything Gibson had ever produced before, became a major talking point at the time of its release.
Another key detail not to be overlooked is the truss rod cover, which features a black/yellow/black color scheme to match the body top. With its fully solid body (no chambered construction), the guitar delivers a powerful rock sound characterized by a well-balanced blend of tight lows and clear highs.
The strap pins and knobs have been replaced.
The finish shows signs of aging overall, including discoloration, dulling, weather checking, scratches, dents, and peeling paint; the metal parts also show some tarnish.
More than 70% of the frets remain, the neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable.
