Video! Bellwood/Audition 1970s Japan (Teisco-ish/Chushin Gakki/Sakai) - pro setup, player ready

General introduction and background:

Very nice Japanese guitar from the mid 1970s. Presumably made by Chushin Gakki, unbranded. I have seen this guitar with the Bellwood brand, but this specimen doesn’t have one. Construction-wise other Chushin Gakki guitars of the era are closest im similarity.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately. But please read the description carefully!

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  628mm

-Nut: ca 41,5 mm

-Weight: 2,64 kg

-Pickups: two unbranded original singlecoils, measuring at 5,2k each, with master volume and tone and two slider switches.

-Body: laminated wood layers

-Neck:  slim, unknown material, probably some Asian Korina-style hardwood, with a rosewood (?) fingerboard. Small vintage frets, rounded fretboard (7,25’’)

Condition:

-Body: very good condition with minor scratches and dings/dongs

-Neck: the neck is straight, frets are in still good condition with some small traces of use. The trussrod is stiff but works.

-Head: Good condition, no issues.

-Hardware: some signs of age

-Electrics: everything works

-Originality: all original except for the bridge and the tremolo arm, which are both modern replacements.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: It is decent to play for someone who is acquainted with these low budget vintage guitars, small and low frets and rounded fretboard.

-Sound: please listen to the video – the guitar offers an airy, twangy sound

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Completely cleaned

-Frets polished and fretboard cleaned/oiled

-Electronics serviced and tested for functionality

-New bridge and trem arm installed

-New Pyramid 10 nickel strings put on

-Play test and demo with video

-Setup concluded and ready to be played (just tune it up)

Auxiliary stuff:

-No case or gigbag included. The item will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you wish I can buy a fitting case or gigbag at your costs.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
