Giacomel J3, built by hand by Corrado Giacomel in Genea, Italy. Instruments made by Giacomel are considered top of the line instruments. A luthier who has his own perception regarding design and construction, while his design is quite progressive, his technique and craftsmanship if real traditional and classis.
This beautiful two-point mandolin is bound in koa and features a honey-toned varnish finish which is pretty worn on its flamed maple back, and has some spots of wear on its flamed maple neck and sides as well. The top is made out of Italian spruce. The head plate on the back and front is made out of beautiful Indian rosewood. The ebony fretboard only has block inlays on its 10th, 12th and 15th position.
This J3 model by Giacomel is in very good condition, seems a bit worn due to the lacquer wear and dings, but is actually in a good shape, with excellent playability. It produces impressive volume due to the typical Giacomel build and bracing. Comes in a hardcase.
