About this listing
Built for players who need a dependable, great-sounding workhorse on stage and on the road, the Martin Road Series D-12E delivers classic Martin tone in a durable, gig-ready package. This used 2021 Martin D-12E in natural gloss pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid sapele back and sides for a warm, woody voice, strong projection and a punchy low end. It is just as much at home in a living room songwriting session as it is on stage at a Saturday night gig.
The dreadnought is the body shape Martin made famous. The company first built the big, bold design in 1916 and introduced it under the Martin name in 1931, and it has remained the go-to flat-top for strummers, flatpickers and singer-songwriters ever since. Martin's Road Series, built at the company's facility in Navojoa, Mexico, brings all-solid-wood construction and quality onboard electronics to working musicians at an approachable price.
The FSC-certified Richlite fingerboard and bridge are dense, stable and built to last, with less upkeep than a traditional unfinished rosewood or ebony fretboard. The Performing Artist neck profile, hand-rubbed neck finish and 25.4" scale feel fast and familiar, whether you are strumming open chords or working your way up the neck. Sharp appointments include a Style 28 multi-stripe rosette, Style 28 pattern mother-of-pearl dot inlays and Style 18 purfling on the back. Plug in and the Martin E-1 electronics faithfully capture the natural acoustic voice of this dreadnought, while the built-in soundhole tuner keeps you in pitch without a pedal. Whether you are a home player or a gigging musician, this acoustic-electric guitar is ready to go, and it comes with a Martin deluxe soft case for easy transport.
This D-12E is in very good condition, showing only light signs of play with no chips, dings or dents in the finish. We cleated a split along the back seam, which required removing the label and then reinstalling it in its original position. All repairs performed by UpFront Guitars carry a two-year warranty. This guitar also includes our professional setup and setup checklist, so it is ready to play right out of the case.
