About this listing
1977 GIBSON SUPER 400C The queen of Archtops! Launched in 1934, the Super 400 was sold for $400, hence its name. Still in production, the price has risen somewhat…The cutaway became an available option in 1939, with the model name “Super 400 Premiere”, but eventually became Model C for “Cutaway”. In the 1950s, the Super 400 began to receive pickups, with a thicker top to reduce feedback. This model is the Super 400 CES (Cutaway Electric Spanish). This rare Super 400 C from 1977 is in very good condition and reminds us of the way high-end guitars were made just before the Second World War. A highly sought-after DeArmond Rythm Chief 1100 Gold has been added to electrify the guitar in the best possible way. The original tuners have been replaced by Grover Imperial. Very good overall condition, with a few traces of wear typical of a 48-year-old guitar.1977 GIBSON SUPER 400C SPECS Instrument Archtop Guitar Brand Gibson Model Super 400C Finish Sunburst Handedness Right Made In Year 1977 Top Spruce Back and Sides Maple Neck/Fingerboard Maple/Ebony Bridge Material Ebony Tuners Non original Grover Imperial Neck Profile C Neck Depth 1st – 10th 21,5 mm / 0.846″ – 24,6 mm / 0.968″ Scale Length 25.5″ Nut Width 44 mm / 1.732″ Weight 3,175 kgs / 7 lbs Electronics DeArmond Rythm Chief 1100 Gold (16,50 k ) Modifications Non original vintage style Pickguard with Volume & Tone Pots Case Gig Bag
