Gorgeous looking sixties ES-355. The rare Sparkling Burgundy finish has faded to a nice gold/bronze, with a lot of beautiful finish checking. This contrasts nicely with the deep black of the ebony fretboard! The back of the guitar has faded less, while the original color can still be seen under the pickups.

This is the rare FACTORY MONO model! So no modifications needed to fully enjoy in-phase (!), glorious vintage Gibson humbucker sounds in all positions. Basically a vintage ES-335 but fancier and with vibrato :) . The Maestro Vibrola works surprisingly well by the way, but has lost all of the gold plating.

It sounds and plays amazing! Original (low and wide) frets, with the nibs intact. The pickups are period-correct gold-plated Patent Stickers. Slotted screws, so I'm assuming they are T-Tops, though I haven't opened them myself. 

Pots are original: pot code 1376707 is readable, which is February '67. 
Caps are original 022 Sprague black beauties.
Wiring seems mostly original; interestingly it has 50s wiring.

The tuners are replacement Grovers - judging from the wear, this was done a very long time ago.

As is usual with these models, the original tortoise pickguard was deteriorating, so I installed a very nice celluloid replica, even with the correct 5 ply binding (made by Sancheski Pickguards). If requested, I can include the (broken) original in a plastic bag.

'67 pot codes, no volute, no 'Made in USA', small (unbound) f-holes, orange oval label, floating i-dot,... => all this points quite clearly to a Gibson made in 1967 or maaaaybe early 1968.

However, the serial number (904xxx) suggests 1970 ... But if you're looking at this, you already know this is obviously not a Norlin-era guitar.

On the back of the body was a sticker from the music store that had it before me; I removed it, but you can still see a rectangle with the less faded Burgundy color.

Nut width just under 40mm, neck thickness at first fret 21 mm, at 12th fret 26 mm . Weight is around 4.3 kg - which seems usual for these guitars.

No original case, but I can ship it in a late 70s black/red Gibson case (2 broken latches, but closes perfectly).
