About this listing
Here for sale we have a Martin DCX1E electro-acoustic guitar in Satin Natural finish. This guitar features a mortise & tenon set-neck construction comprising a Solid Spruce top, High Pressure Laminate (HPL) in Mahogany Pattern back and sides, Rust Stratabond neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard with matching bridge. A Corian saddle and nut are fitted, along with a set of Chrome Martin sealed tuning machines. An undersaddle piezo pickup is installed, and is wired to a shoulder-mounted Fishman 'Classic 4' preamp with slider controls for master volume, brilliance and 3-band EQ. The Rust Stratabond neck plays very well, with the 'High-Performance Taper' profile filling the hand nicely for a confidence-inspiring grip when chord playing, yet remaining slim enough for articulate melodic lines. The Stratabond neck comprises thin strips of mahogany, laminated together to form a supremely strong and warp-resistant neck. The Rosewood of the fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its traditional 16" radius provides a smooth and responsive playing experience across the register, suitable for a wide range of styles and techniques. The acoustic voice of the Martin DCX1E is bright and well balanced. The dreadnought body design delivers plenty of volume and a strong bass response, whilst the HPL back and sides work together with the Solid Spruce top to produce a bright tone that works just as well as a solo instrument as it does as part of an ensemble. The on-board Fishman undersaddle piezo and 'Classic 4' preamp provide the versatility required for live and recording situations, meaning this guitar is ready for wherever the gig takes you. This cannot be felt beneath the string but is visually apparent. It is difficult to discern any markings to the rear of the neck from the "stratabond" construction. A seam is visible to the treble side of the neck pocket - this is not a structural concern.Body: Overall very good condition, the rear face demonstrates some indentation and scratching consistent with light buckle rash. One moderate indentation is apparent to the center of the face, piercing the finish slightly. All aspects demonstrate very light scratching and indentation visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.Condition of Frets:The frets demonstrates notable signs of use in the early register, not affecting playability. This improves significantly as you climb the neck, however due to the indentation in the early register there is only a small amount of fret material remaining for future fret work.Current Set Up:Truss Rod: Fully functional.
